Yale University, the University of Connecticut, and Quinnipiac University have joined forces with Connecticut Innovations and the Bioscience Innovation Fund to help you commercialize your biomedical technology innovation (medical devices, diagnostics and health information technology). This $1 million, two-year initiative provides up to $30,000 per project of much-needed gap funding to seedling companies or faculty and student groups associated with any Connecticut university. Applications are accepted twice a year. The strongest proposals, as determined by a peer review committee, will receive up to $30,000 in funding.

The CCAM Lending Lab is managed and operated by the Yale Student Technology Collaborative (STC) and is available to all members of the Yale community. For the fall 2020 semester the lending lab is making long term loans and pick up is by appointment.

The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Clinic works closely with the entrepreneurial communities at Yale University, in greater New Haven, and beyond. Clients of the clinic range from student- and faculty-led entrepreneurial ventures at Yale from all institutes, programs, centers, and schools, to for-profit and nonprofit entrepreneurs and their ventures that are part of the greater New Haven innovation ecosystem. Clients also include innovative start-ups and emerging growth companies from other entrepreneurial places on the East Coast and from around the globe.

The Innovator's Toolkit is a series of free workshops focused on key skills for innovation, from visual communication to fundraising.

Launched in 2016, the Social Innovation Lab is an incubator for members of the New Haven community dedicated to leveraging their talents to create positive social impact. The Lab provides mentorship, funding, workshops, and access to corporate services to help movements, non-profits, and socially driven organizations build vibrant, connected communities. 

At the intersection of business and the environment, CBEY supports students interested in the creation of new nonprofit and commercial organizations, business models, or other innovations that address pressing environmental challenges. CBEY staff are available for office hours or 1-1 coaching sessions on your venture, innovative idea, career path and beyond.

Social Impact Lab is a weekly speaker series that offers a unique, inspiring opportunity to learn from powerful leaders from within and beyond the SOM community. We ask challenging questions and discuss thought-provoking issues that get at the heart of what it takes to make positive social and environmental change.

The West Campus Urban Farm supports a number of objectives at YLL, from research and teaching to community building. The space is also used as an experimental site by a variety of groups and project teams — past projects have looked at soil microbes, carbon sequestration, and technology-driven innovations.

Through the Sobotka Research Fund, these grants provide seed funding for start-up ventures in the field of business and the environment. The goal of the funding is to support student and faculty in creating competitive commercial enterprises that market viable products, services, and projects with environmental benefits to society. Seed stage venture grants are for student and faculty ventures from departments across Yale University. Up to two seed stage venture grants of $10,000 each will be awarded. 

The Blavatnik Fund for Innovation at Yale bridges the gap between innovative, early-stage life science research and successful development of high-impact biomedical products. Our integrated approach combines essential funding with development and business expertise, leading to commercial partnerships that bring forth new biomedical discoveries that create value and benefit society.

The Yale Innovation Summit is an event highlighting entrepreneurial Yale faculty and students and the investable innovations coming out of Yale labs. The event includes a Biotech Track, aimed at those interested in commercializing ideas for drug discovery and biological therapeutics, and a Tech Track, for those interested in commercializing ideas from physical and computer sciences, engineering, software, and services.
